Giving Back

The team at Cuozzo Orthodontic Specialists firmly believes in giving back to our communities here in New Jersey, as well as to the world at large.

In addition to a variety of charity organizations and events here at home, Dr. Pat volunteers his time and donates funds to organizations in other regions of the U.S. and areas across the globe.

Connect Global and Aquaponics

Aquaponics is a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics.

  • Aquaculture is the raising of fish as a sustainable food source.

  • Hydroponics is the growing of plants in water, rather than soil.

The waste from the fish fertilizes the plants, and the plants clean the water that the fish live in, creating an ideal environment for both parties.

Because of their efficiency, Aquaponics serve as an excellent and sustainable food source for under-developed countries that are in need of resources.

A single Aquaponic system, which is relatively inexpensive to build, can be capable of feeding an entire village.

Dr. Pat donates monthly to Connect Global, an organization who builds Aquaponic systems in struggling villages in Africa. With the help of donors, Connect Global hopes to soon expand their services to villages in Jamaica.

Dr. Pat strives to educate others about these sustainable food sources, and even has a small one in his own backyard.

“It is our desire to see thousands of people positively affected by sustainable solutions. By making Sustainable Solutions accessible, we are empowering life change in communities around the world in a dignified and lasting manner.”

Remote Area Medical (RAM)

Based out of Knoxville, Tennessee, Remote Area Medical (RAM) is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to providing health and dental care for patients who cannot afford basic medical care and/or have limited access to such services.

Dr. Pat goes on a yearly mission trip to Tennessee to offer dental services to RAM. He and his colleagues often treat several hundred patients in a 3-4 day span. During the trip, Dr. Pat provides extractions, restorations, cleanings, and flouride treatments; all of which are essential in maintaining good oral health.

“My colleagues and I were able to treat upwards of 700 patients over the course of the weekend, all of whom were more than thankful for the care they were able to receive. To see the smile on each patient’s face after their treatment made the entire experience truly gratifying.”

Local School Visits

Dr. Pat often visits local schools for various events, like career days. He has even been invited to judge science fairs! He loves to be able to teach children and teens about the importance of caring for their teeth, and to encourage them to pursue a career as a dentist or dental assistant.
